This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’ Jeremiah 7:23
So often, people ask themselves, what can I do to please GOD? What is GODs desire for my life? How can situations change in my life? Where is the starting point for a change for the good?
There is always one simple answer because GOD made it easy for us: Get connected with him, read and love his word and figure out what it means for you wherever you are to be obedient to him.
GOD tells us multiple times that if we follow his commands and start to search his way for our life earnestly, he will be there with his helping hand. The more, he does not only want to help you out; he wants to bless you, your family, and the work of your hands. He is there for you, but he needs you to agree with his word and his will for your life.
“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 28:1-2
It is the loving heart of the Father that he is always only one prayer away from you. That´s a distance everybody can overcome. He loves a humble heart that reaches out to him, asks for help, and commits itself to follow the word of GOD and to be obedient.
When King Saul was disobedient to the LORD´s command, the Prophet Samuel spoke the following words to him.
But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrificesor your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22
Samuel was absolutely angry with King Saul, but at the same time, he gave us a glimpse of what God is thinking of sacrifices, even in the old testament. GOD is not interested in our finances, our deeds, or our ministry. It is a pleasure to honor him through all this. But first of all, he wants to see an obedient heart; that is what loving him looks like in his eyes. But it is not obedience without any knowledge, just blind because somebody said something.
GOD always tells us the reasons why we should do something or why we shouldn´t. And he shows us the consequences if we don´t do it. So at every time and everywhere, we have the choice, whether to grow in our relationship with him or not.
I want to encourage you to sit down and think about your life; where were situations where you didn´t or thought you couldn´t obey him? Remember, he is only one little prayer away from your turning point in your journey with the LORD. One little prayer, to change your life for the good. He is waiting for you with arms wide open to show you his true love.
